On to the November General Election!

Experience

Bill Moore is a 1985 graduate of Villanova University, and a 1988 graduate of the Texas Tech School of Law.  He has spent his entire 19-year legal career serving the citizens of Harris County as an Assistant District Attorney with the Harris County District Attorney's Office.

Bill is the only candidate who has served as a Felony Chief Prosecutor with the Harris County District Attorney's Office.  During his 19-year career he has served as:

The Felony Chief Prosecutor in the 180th District Court handling Murder and Capital Murder cases.

The Felony Chief Prosecutor in the 351st District Court handling Murder and Capital murder cases.

The Felony Chief Prosecutor in the 232nd District Court handling Murder and Capital Murder cases.

He is the only candidate to have served in the Special Crimes Bureau of the Harris County District Attorney's Office for over 10 years.  During that time he practiced in all 22 Harris County Criminal District Courts, and prosecuted hundreds of organized crime cases and complex financial frauds.

He is the only candidate for the 174th District Court that has served as the Deputy Chief of the Misdemeanor Division at the Harris County District Attorney's Office, supervising over 40 attorneys and their support staff.

  Over 100 jury trials

 19 years as a prosecutor

Bill is the only candidate to have been awarded a 2002 Houston Police Department Commendation for the successful prosecution of 22 organized crime cases following a two year undercover sting operation.

Bill is the only candidate who is currently serving as a Felony Chief Prosecutor prosecuting Murder and Capital Murder cases.  He currently serves as the Felony Chief Prosecutor in the 232nd District Court.

Integrity

Bill Moore is the only candidate for the 174th District Court that has pledged not to accept any political contributions from any lawyer who might appear before him as Judge of the 174th District Court.  Although allowed under current campaign finance laws, Bill believes that accepting such contributions creates an appearance of impropriety.  Public trust in the criminal justice system is arguably tainted when a lawyer contributes money to a judicial candidate, and then later appears before that judge representing a criminal defendant.

Crime victims and their families deserve a judge free from such conflicts of interest.
